My photography can be loosely divided into 3 categories:
Photography of Artworks
As well as official photography of art works I can also undertake conservation photography. This would often take place during treatment of an artwork by a conservator. This can include: Macro photography, Infra Red, Ultra Violet, using raking light to emphasise surface detail. I am also certified to use X-ray equipment, ( I must point out that i do not have my own X-ray set).
Installation and Architectural
Installation photography documents and records the layout of Exhibitons and Galleries. This can provide an invaluable archive detailing an institutions activities. A good photographic record can be very important as often this will be the only visual documentation of a particular show or event that will exist into the future. This is especially relevant in the documenting of ‘performance art pieces’ and special site specific installations. Architectural photography is useful for providing up to date images of buildings, as well as documenting and recording building projects etc.
Press and Social
This can cover a vast area, including everything from; portraiture, press launches, private views, educational events, various corporate functions, formal dinner parties etc.
